MCDC - Digital Fabrication
Design development & detailing in grasshopper

2025 / Pavilion Digital Fabrication
Instructor: Martino Degaspari
Tools: Rhino3D, Grasshopper3d & opennest
Goal: Digital Fabrication Detailing
This pavilion was developed and detailed in Grasshopper, using a combination of plugins to streamline both design visualization and fabrication. The Human and Horster plugins were employed to control camera paths, generate perspective views, and document the form from multiple angles, enabling a comprehensive exploration of spatial qualities and structural rhythm. For fabrication, OpenNest was used to flatten and optimize the pavilion's ribbed components, ensuring material efficiency and accurate layout for CNC cutting or laser fabrication. This workflow not only allowed iterative refinement of the design but also bridged the gap between conceptual form-making and precise digital fabrication detailing.
